ঢাকায় যুক্তরাজ্যের ইউনিভার্সিটি অভ পোর্টসমাউথ বাংলাদেশ আঞ্চলিক অফিস গত ২৭ আগস্ট এক প্রি-ডিপার্চার সেশনের আয়োজন করে।
এই অনুষ্ঠানে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টির বাংলাদেশ আঞ্চলিক ব্যবস্থাপক মো. নুরুজ্জামান বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টিতে ভর্তির প্রক্রিয়া সম্পর্কে বিভিন্ন তথ্য প্রদান করেন।
এতে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ব্রিটিশ কাউন্সিল, ঢাকার হাইয়ার এডুকেশন প্রোগ্রাম ম্যানেজার-মবিলিটি আগাথা গোমেজ এবং বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ব্রিটিশ কাউন্সিল, বাংলাদেশের প্রোগ্রাম কোঅর্ডিনেটর-হাইয়ার এডুকেশন আসিফ ইকবাল।
তারা যুক্তরাজ্যে উচ্চশিক্ষার বিভিন্ন সুযোগ-সুবিধা এবং সাংস্কৃতিক দিক তুলে ধরেন।
উল্লেখ্য, ইউনিভার্সিটি অভ পোর্টসমাউথ দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব ইংল্যান্ডে অবস্থিত একটি সরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে প্রায় ২৯,০০০ শিক্ষার্থী রয়েছে যাদের মধ্যে রয়েছে ১৫০টিরও বেশি দেশের ৫,২০০ এরও বেশি আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষার্থী। এই আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে ২,০০০ এরও বেশি শিক্ষার্থী বাংলাদেশের।
সকল বাংলাদেশী শিক্ষার্থী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টিতে ২,৫০০ পাউন্ডের একটি নিশ্চিত ভাইস-চ্যান্সেলর গ্লোবাল ডেভেলপমেন্ট স্কলারশিপ এবং ৫,০০০ পাউন্ডের চ্যান্সেলর’স গ্লোবাল একাডেমিক মেরিট স্কলারশিপ পান।
এছাড়াও, নির্বাচিত কোর্সগুলির জন্য রয়েছে ৫০% বৃত্তির সুযোগ।

University of Portsmouth pre-departure session held
The University of Portsmouth Bangladesh Regional Office arranged a pre-departure session for the students in Dhaka on 27th of August.
At this event, the university’s Bangladesh Regional Manager Md. Nuruzzaman provided various information about the admission process at the university.
Agatha Gomes, Higher Education Programme Manager-Mobility, British Council, Dhaka was present as the chief guest while Asif Iqbal, Programme Coordinator-Higher Education, British Council, Bangladesh was present as special guest at the event.
They highlighted the UK’s higher education opportunities and shared the cultural insights.
Mentionable, the University of Portsmouth is a public university based in southeast England. The University is home to around 29,000 students including over 5,200 international students from more than 150 countries where more than 2,000 are from Bangladesh.
All Bangladeshi students at the university receive a guaranteed Vice-Chancellor’s Global Development Scholarship of GBP 2,500 and a Chancellor’s Global Academic Merit Scholarship of GBP 5,000.
Besides, there is 50% scholarship opportunities for the selected courses.
