থ্রিডরেঙ্গার যাকে আইসল্যান্ডিক ভাষায় বানান করা হয় Þrídrangaviti এর অর্থ হলো ‘তিনটি শিলাস্তম্ভ’ এবং একই স্থানে অবস্থিত তিনটি শিলাকে বোঝায়। এই তিনটি শিলাস্তম্ভ হলো Klofadrangur, Thufudrangur এবং Storidrangur। এগুলোর মধ্যে বাতিঘরটি নির্মিত Storidrangur শিলাস্তম্ভটির উপর।
এই বাতিঘরটি ১৯৩৮ এবং ১৯৩৯ সালে নির্মিত হয় এবং চালু করা হয় ১৯৪২ সালের ৫ জুলাই।

Thridrangar, the most isolated Lighthouse
The Thridrangar Lighthouse in Iceland is considered one of the most dramatic and unique lighthouses in the world. It’s also the most isolated lighthouse located 4.5 miles (7.2 kilometers) off the southern coast of Iceland in the Westman Islands.
Thridrangar, spelled Þrídrangaviti in Icelandic, means “three rock pillars” and refers to the three rocks in the same location. Klofadrangur, Thufudrangur and Storidrangur are the rock names with Storidrangur being the rock upon which the lighthouse is built.
This lighthouse was built in 1938 and 1939 and commissioned on 5 July 1942.
Although Iceland is home to many lighthouses, this one is highly unique. Initially, the only way to access it was by scaling the rock it sits atop. Later, a helipad was built and today it can be reached by helicopter. ##
